I have put aside Franklin halves (less proofs), filling a Dansco, and one day
one of my five grandsons will draw a straw for it. Initially, I just filled holes..

But, as time went by and I found nicer examples, and when reasonable,
I exchanged them. Currently, all of the halves with the exception of
the '49-S, are beautiful, blast white, lots of luster, Gem BU's (many have
full bell lines, although I was not
that particular!).
The first page looks horrible with the current, dark, worn (maybe VF35) coin,
which appears as a very sore thumb!
I would like to find a nice problem free Gem BU example, so that I may finally put this
album away. I see crazy prices for this year & mm; on eBay, dealer offerings, and elsewhere.
I can't believe they are that scarce, or special, to warrant the high prices I have
noticed for an uncertified example. I can see a PCGS slabbed MS example, having Full
Bell Lines, garnering amounts in excess of $100.00, but heck...
...I am not dealing with a registry set here; I just want a decent, prob free, bright
example for my album. Since I have experienced Dansco albums toning silver coins, I realize
that over time, they may lose their blast white look; but initially, I wish to enter a tone free coin.
Does anyone here have such an example?

Thanks, Jerry
