Hi, and welcome, TCB!
It's nice to know we have someone signed up who knows Washington's!
I know nothing! Yeah, me and the Sarge were alot alike.
Looking once again, at Carl's Washington, I see a faint shadow of another "S"
under the top "S" and a skosh above the outside mm. My remark re an S&D
were certainly premature.. I have a 1947-D, that PCGS certified as MS65, that
exhibits a horrible rim clip or crimp, at the very bottom of the obv, under the date.
Actually, the crunch is directly under the "4." The similar flat, squeezed part is
noticeable on the rev, too. It's almost as tho someone squeezed the coin with a
tiny pair of pliers?? I was surprised to see it graded. I figured it would be BB'd
as "damaged." Or a note, that it was some type of "error" and did I want to spend
another $40 to do that? LOL... Does that sound familiar at all?
Again, Welcome, and Happy Thanksgiving!
