I just photographed a Yellowstone commemorative dollar. The obverse shows the Old Faithful geyser. The reverse a nice rendition of an American Bison. The thought jumped in my mind that it would be super cool to own a type set of coins, each different, each with a buffalo on it. I believe the Buffalo nickel started it all, so you would need a T1 and T2 of those. The expensive coins would be the gold Buffalo coins. The state quarters with buffaloes on them would be pretty easy. The Indian/Buffalo commem is still expensive for a commem.

Maybe it is just me - I'm a type set kind of guy - but I do like this idea. Smiley

I guess the Yellowstone reverse isn't the very best Buffalo. The mountains and rays of sunlight behind the bison detract from his presence. None the less it is a good start for this type set.
