counterfeit 1973-S PCGS holders?
«

A fellow won a '73-S Jeff in PCGS pr 69 DCAM plastic on eBay for $1.53. He wrote me an email saying that NGC told him it was a counterfeit slab?
I checked the PCGS website and it was fine, and PCGS pegged the value at $50. I told him it was fine but he was welcome to return the coin if he wanted. Pretty funny because the coin is obviously authentic, obviously proof and worth at least $1.50 raw...

Some people are
NEVER
satisfied!
As I ponder, it came to me that he actually went to NGC to ask about
the authenticity of a PCGS coin? Another one, pretending that his IQ
is above 67!
Carl, what would we do w/o them, tho?

Not sure, but maybe he tried to enter it in his NGC registry set... There could be a problem when NGC's computers talk with PCGS's computers.

I realize that $1.53 is a lot of money to some folks but you just gotta ask yourself, "Who would counterfeit a PCGS Slab for a 1973-S PR69DCAM
nickel
?"

Teletrade sold two lots of PCGS PR69DC 1973-S nickels last week. Each lot contained (10) coins.
They hammered for $70.00 and $73.00. It's evident that someone is looking to make a market in them! LOL!
