point will you be selling?

AU at 1200, 1300 or higher?

AG at $18, $19, $20 or higher?

I've been accumulating.

Gold is up 1% this morning to $1,129/oz. as I read it now. Not long ago I sold a 1/4 oz gold modern commem usually considered bullion for about $300 so that equates to $1,200. Was that a premium for the PCGS PR 69 green label holder?

If I had much more gold I'd play a bit more. I've got gold priced on my website at about the rate of $1,300 for some. I've got a gold buffalo at $1,400. I will not adjust the prices so as gold continues to rise I'll get picked off.

I think the ratio of gold to silver is off from historic ratios. It seems that if gold is over $1,100 silver should be much higher than it is. I wish I had more silver but don't want to pay current prices, I'm looking for a (temporary) pullback.

So I will continue to sell as prices rise. At this price point I don't want to sell. Nor do I want to buy. At $1,300 I will sell more gold. At $2,000 I'll sell most all of it. I will continue to hold gold mining stocks. I will sell half of my stocks if gold hits $2,000 and will scale out until at $3,000 all mining stocks will be sold.

OK, it looks like I'm rambling. Let me do a quick inventory tomorrow and see where I am and try to get more coherent. I have coins to buy and sell as part of my business. I price bullion high because I'm thinking bullion will increase. I also have mining stocks in my retirement account as an investment. So I really should develop a more reasoned strategy.

My macro opinion is that we are headed into a long period of increasing inflation. The dollar must continue to decline to help balance the US deficits in trade and budget. Inflation and a declining dollar imply increases in hard assets like gold, silver, oil, lumber and so on. I hope to have some gold at the top. If I can identify a top and a Volker type Fed Chairman is ready to hike rates to kill inflation I would like to trade gold for California municipal bonds. I believe I will have that opportunity in maybe 8 years from now.

Buying and holding until I get closer to retirement. Have been buying platinum, gold and silver for over 15+ years and also inherited a vast silver and foreign coin collection when my father passed away in 1979. Retirement will be here before I know it and that's when I plan to start selling.

I've been buying AG & AU from CL; and since AU has been outperforming AG I've been selling AG

ATS, to finance purchases of AU.

Not sure when I'll start selling AU.

 Huh

Well, shoot!  Not having a great financial kinda related background, and
not a lot of experience dealing with large numbers of dollars..'Ya know,
buying cars, and having a mortgage, isn't much exposure to wall street
shenanigans, large money portfolios, and so I just buy the odd piece of
silver when it seems cheap, as well as some certified gold.  I once held
30 ounces of gold, couple years back, and since most of it was purchased
at around $600, I slowly returned it to the market. I am sorry I did that,
but since I did not lose money, it's not that sour of a taste. What gold
I still have, I will wait until I see it @ 1.5K before I sell...

I think both  Ag & Au are in the midst of a bull run;

where the top is, no one knows; except maybe just maybe

Au will correct when paper assets & housing turn around or

when jobless rate drops to single digit?
