A friendly reader with a super Type Set wrote in with this question. It stumped me for a while. There is only one type of US coin that has no copper in it. All the others have at least a little. Do you know what type it is?

Our thanks to Doc Owen for submitting this question!

Good guess! But wrong.  Huh

Silver Eagles do not have any copper in them. But they are not circulating coins. There is one US type coin that has no copper. It was a regular coin that actually circulated.

*wasn't there a single issue coin type set?*

I'm not sure what you mean... but the coin I'm thinking of is listed in most type sets I know about.

We have a winner! It took me a while to figure out because I thought Cent = copper so looked elsewhere to no avail.

Great question!
