I lost the title to my truck. I sent in the proper form. My check was cashed. After a month I received a duplicate Registration Card!!!!! Idiots. So I call and am on hold for 15 minutes. Then I get hung up on. Why? Probably because it turned 5 PM and they don't work after 5!!!!! Idiots.

I made an appointment to renew my driver's license some months ago.  I made the appointment thru their website.  I
was given a Friday morning appointment.  When I arrived at the office, I found them closed.  It was a money saving
day, I think?

Yes, I agree...They are the worst!   I have experience with DMV's in PA, VA, AZ, Scotland, Denmark, and Germany.
All were much better supported and managed than our CA department. A shame, really.  Next to the PD, and the FD,
we all depend very much on the services of DMV.    Embarrassed

I was able to get through on the phone today. The nice technician, yes they called themselves technicians, looked up my case and said I would eventually get my title. It had been ordered properly (gee, thanks!). They sometimes send a duplicate registration form when sending new titles because of changed information. Hmmm. Nothing on the registration has changed. All I want is my title. It has only been 6-7 weeks so far. I was told it would likely, probably but not for sure, arrive next week and not to bother calling back before 2011.

 Embarrassed

So sad.  I fear the department will not improve with the new year, either.  All state services
will decay, downsize, and just flat disappear with time.  The state is sucked into deeper debt
each passing minute...Much like the whole country.. No way to recover from California's debt,
either. Increase taxes?  Who will pay them?  The few honest taxpayers are losing confidence
day by day.  A shame, a horrible shame..

Someone mention "Doom?"    Wink

My title arrived today! Yeay!!!

True, it is becoming harder for me to remain optimistic. I am a die hard optimist. It comes from surviving two open heart operations after thinking that for sure I would not recover from either one. I continue to believe almost everybody has some good in them and many people are genuinely good. However the older I get the more truly evil people I hear about.

As to politics I find that people with diametrically opposed views can become good friends. Usually that never happens unless they meet up face to face and are open enough to recognize the good intentions of the other.

I am, indeed, happy for you!  I would not have expected it, myself.. And yes, you are 100% correct in
your assumption that as we age, the decline, downfall, and evilness of our fellow humans becomes
more apparent; only then we, as old men having learned life thru an age of trial and error, will ask ourselves
when, exactly, did this begin, and how will it end?  (is that an oxford comma moment?)

 Cry

After coffee thought... As long as this state continues to allow unchecked immigration, leading to
pervasive, and increasing public assistance, all other options matter not a whit!

So sad.  When Pat Brown was Governor, the state was leading in education excellence, and
offered industrial leadership as a business model for our other 47 states; even leading many larger COUNTRIES!
And I have no expectation of positive change with the son.

 Sad
