My Sherwood Newcastle broke. It works for a minute or two then trips a circuit breaker. I'd buy a new one but other things are higher on list. For example we need a new sofa. Also a new car.

The ideal situation would be if a nice coin collecting person from around San Jose, CA enjoyed fixing A/V receivers for fun. I'd love to meet them, perhaps trade a coin and lunch for fixing my receiver.

Hopefully in about 18 months, maybe 2 years I will have saved enough for a BIG flat monitor, new AV receiver with HD and DVR service from DirecTV. I'm happy with my old speakers but would want a Blu-Ray player, probably a Playstation which comes with a built in Blu-Ray.

 Sad

If it had tubes Carl, I'd take a look at it....   Check which ones are not lit up inside.

If any look dark, pull them, take them to Sav-On's and use their tube tester to check the grids and plates.....

Huh?   What silicon?  Holes move? Really? you're just sayin ' that!
