$3.11 now

 Cry

AM/PM this morning..... $3.21 regular.    Ouch!     Highest price in a very long time!

So sad..  But, wasn't oil at $94 a bbl yesterday?  Figures, huh?   Jeez, I recall when oil

was but $15 a bbl. Regular gas would run $20 for 14 gallons.  I always purchased gas

in $20 increments..  Yeah, weird, I know... Just the way I felt, handling buying gas back then... The pump

accepted currency. I kept a small (very small) stack of crisp $20's in the console, just to feed the

cash machine at the pump station.   ..It seemed as forever, that I could pump 14 gallons of gas for

a twenty...until....Until what?   Jeez.... Stormin' Norman was in charge back then, huh?

$3.15, the price of fuel is directly related to the money being printed by the U.S. every day.

In so far as the value of the dollar affecting oil prices I agree. I think we also agree that too many dollars will increase inflation which will increase oil. I think it will go over $100 this year.

Just got back from the east coast - a bit farther south than you Laserart. Gas in Miami was a bit cheaper than CA at just over $3. Gas in the Bahamas was almost $5 and it isn't taxed much, they have to ship it in.

Wow..  You and I seem to have age in common.  I was 14, and ethyl gas in San Diego was
about .23 cents.  Watching for the corner gas wars, you could get more blue chip or green
S&H stamps, plus a couple cents savings.  A drive to Tijuana would get me an imperial gallon
of some kinda gas for a paltry .15 cents per gallon.  I drove a 1946 Ford coupe then.
My second car, a 1946 Chevy convertible, was better on gas.  It was a straight "six" and
I got about 19 miles to a gallon of 110 proof.

Gasoline has held at $3.15 for awhile now but heating oil goes up 10 cents at a time. That was $2.53 back in September and now it is $3.04.

Hey, you are catching up with me!

$3.29 gasoline and reasonable gas. The US has so much natural gas it should promote the production of natural gas burning vehicles. Anyway I heat with nat gas. Hot water and our clothes dryer use the home grown fuel too.

we  use oil heat and that price has gone up 20 cents in one week. So if I get 200 gallons it now costs $40 more.

$3.39

I blame Bush. He had us fighting expensive wars when he should have put people to work mining US natural gas, converting our interstate trucks to burn Nat Gas and motivate some big truck stops to pump it.
