I recently bought a Winchester Mod. 52-D target rifle, .22 cal.. I used to be a very avid shooter when I was a young man. Not long after I was married I sold my original 52-D and kicked myself ever since. I always said if I ever found another one and I was able to swing the purchase I'd get it.
I just missed a pair of Kimber semi-autos, 1 in .45 ACP and the other in .22 with aluminum frame. The guy selling them traded for a stupid boat w/motor so I just missed it.

A great rifle.  You missed the Kimber guys, but the Winchester .22 is a wonderful piece.

Back inna 'bout 19 and 69, our minesweeper was visiting Yokosuka Navy base (Japan).
Having just entered port from a 45 day stint as a Market Time asset, we needed soap,
toothpaste, well....alla that kinda stuff that a small craft as ours did not have room to
store.... I walked to the Navy BX, the second day in-port, and while shopping I noticed
a long line at the sporting goods register...??  Hmmm?  Well, they were selling Winchester
Model 94's as fast as they could ring 'em up!  Sittin' down?  The price was $53.00.  I
waited my turn, bought (2) of them.  One for me, one for my brother. They were the
last U.S. made model 94's.  An employee of the exchange later delivered my rifles to
the ship. I kept them in the radio room until our return to Long Beach.

It's the finest rifle I've ever owned.  I've owned long arms enough to furnish a couple
of rifle companies, too..

Good deal... I'm jealous..

I sold my original 52-D for $250.00. Included in the sale was the box or kit that all the accessories was stored in, a Unertl scope, leather slings a spotting scope and other stuff I do not want to remember. I bought a new Panasonic stereo with the proceeds and still have it today, a constant reminder of the biggest blunder I ever did.

Nice gun

Boy, Howdy!   I must agree!

A guy could shoot the whiskers off'n a wet rat at 500 meters with that piece... (Even using foreign ammo....)

I shot a fly at 50 yards once. It landed on my target in the bottom right corner. My dad was spotting for me and asked if I could see the speck and if I could to try and hit it, one shot and I bagged a horsefly.

 Shocked

A horsefly?  At 50 yards?  Yeah, that's cool...  I could see it.

'Ya know, when I posted to your first post, I talked about everything except
what my LATEST gun purchase was!

Last year, my eldest girl wanted home protection.  Her husband travels a lot.
She claims homeless guys are digging in her trash & garbage, and she's
worried....  Well, I just figured she wanted to shoot her old man; but I'm a
good Dad, and I picked out a very nice, compact, and easy to work "Bersa"
Thunder .380 in Matte Blue. For the paltry sum of $259.00, M N/H, NIB,
it's worth every cent, and more!

I was so impressed with it after putting two boxes (familiarization for her)
thru it, I ordered another one for myself.  It's soooooo nice. You can carry
it wearing almost anything, and it does well in a vehicle, too.

And so it goes.... Kiss

The Ruger .22, that sorta resembles a Luger (somewhat) forgot the model #,
but the front sight is removable with a small allen wrench, makes for a completely
smooth, round, barrel easily adaptable to adding special things at the end......

Don'cha know....

Just checked their website... The .22 Ruger I mention above, is the "Mark III Target."  A worthwhile
handgun...  handles like a dream, and will find those flies, too!

I've often thought of experimenting with making those special adaptors, using cardboard.

A decent drill press and some sked-80 PVC works, too.

This morning I was lucky enough to be first and got a great deal on a Kimber .22 Target pistol.

Well, after doing a google and finding Kimber guns, I must admit I like the looks of them
very much.  I know, looks don't often matter... Never having owned any Kimber firearms,
I hate to make positive comments w/o having held and/or fired them, but if they
shoot as good as they look...if I should ever decide to add another weapon to the safe,
I'll definitely look at them!

I took it out in the back yard and tested it out. My first 5 shots you could have covered with a half dollar and a half dime at 50 feet.
