I got a prepaid Visa card for fathers day

I just activated it now. It was for $20 and whenever I use it as a debit card they will charge me $2. When I was activating the card they asked if I wanted to check the balance and I pressed 1, well that just cost me 50 cents so now I have $17.50 that I can use. I told the operator that in this country we call that robbery. What a racket.

Holy moley! I did think that was robbery! Maybe the lesson is to spend them as a partial payment for a big item all at once.

Or I could use this example as justification for my support of stronger financial regulations... but I don't want to rile up my more conservative friends who post here.
