Not in CA. But lots of people are ignoring the law. When I first used my cell in traffic I almost drove off the road. Later I learned how to do it. That is like eating. You need training to handle these distractions. Smiley

There is a new study that says hands free phones, like those bluetooth gadgets that hang from your ear, don't make any difference. Also there is no difference between CA and Nevada in accident rates so the law is useless.

We don't know if the study is bad, if most people just ignore the law or if cell phones really don't make much of a difference.

Are they legal where you live?

I never use a cell phone while I drive. Just because I don't have one is not the reason. Oh wait, yes it is.

Illegal but not enforced here. Hard to get used to using while driving  a motorbike, but not impossible.

I was driving home from school about 2 months ago when this lady on the other side of the road started coming on to my side of the road I was wondering what the heck is she doing I thought she was drunk at first but when I was honked my horn she looked up and you could see the cell pone in her hand she went back in her lane as soon as possible I just dont understand why you would text and drive Angry I mean come on driving is more fun than texting lol.

I should get one of those blue tooth devices. I like talking on the phone while I'm driving. But I won't because nobody calls me anyway.  Cry

It is totally illegal to use a cellphone while driving over here in New Zealand.

Before you can answer the cellphone, you have to pull over to the side of the road & stop.

Of course,it is illegal to stop on the motorway.

Yes,a hands-free kit is perfectly legal.

Is legal in Minnesota, but if you are involved in an accident while using one you can be cited for careless driving.
