It was a quick overnight to a nearby state park, Henry Coe, the largest in Northern CA. I camped at 2,600 feet elevation. I was hoping to see lots of shooting stars last night being the peak of the Leonids meteor shower. The viewing conditions were perfect, no moon and no clouds. I slept in the bed of my pickup. It was warmer than I expected. I enjoyed watching the stars all night but only saw 6 shooting stars. This was nothing like the spectacular Persids we saw earlier this year.

Cheesy haha, that is what I was thinking! I kept waking up and saw the constellations march across the sky. I'm sure the meteors were just waiting for me to close my eyes then all leaped out at the same time! haha. It was great anyway. I was away from the city. I saw the milky way. I saw raccoons. Hey, I'll get the photos off my phone and see if they are any good - if so I'll upload them here tomorrow.

Cool! I was into sky photography some years ago. I'll see if I can scan some pictures to share here.
