A good shower is expected this year. The moon should not interfere as it will be a new moon. I am planning on camping out. My family will stay home. I will take the pickup and sleep in the truck bed so I can view the sky will reclined and all bundled up in my sleeping bag and extra blankets. The Leonids start out slowly tonight Friday the 13'th. The build in intensity peaking around 11/17 then tapering off through 11/21.

More info on Leonids.

A Good Leonid display is a true sight to behold!

For years I took my sons out into the cold November evenings in Denver only to be dissapointed at the weak showing. It became increasing more difficult to get thwm out there!

2001 was a different year though as the display was simply magnificent! We were easily viewing meteorites at 10 to 20 per minute! I'd swear that some could even be "heard"!
