First off the best thing was spending a couple of days with my family. My Dad and his wife came down from Oregon and spent the past few days here. Since our guest room and my office (with computer) are one and the same I have been off line.

My best material present was a blanket from my Mom. My mom lives in a secluded religious community in the San Juan Islands of Washington state. They try to be self sufficient in all things. They raise Cotswald sheep among other things. They are an old fashioned breed useful for both wool and meat. The blanket was made with wool from sheep raised in my Mom's community. It is beautiful, soft, warm and its smell reminds me of my grandparent's house.

I too have warm and fuzzy memories of my grandmother's house! Smells are often
the first responders of them, too!
