Just got home with a tag on my door. They replaced my meter without even warning me. Around here people think the meters cheat us out of dough. We will be watching our bill like a hawk!

I envy Santa Clara. They will get smart meters too, but their meters come with free Wi-Fi service!

Keep us advised if your bill suddenly shifts into another dimension...

We were worried as well.  So many complaints.  It was scary.  Our monthly
PG&E billing has a history of less than $100 per month.  Our meter was
replaced 3 cycles ago. And, like you, no one gave us a head's up.  One day
a truck drove up, and the games began.

Anyway, this is getting boring... Bottom line.... The new meters (elec & gas)
have NOT changed our billing.  The prev year useage history is tracking current use...   Whew!

Although we may not be out of the woods yet...  We have a history with Mr. Murphy... Cry

Last month our PG&E bill was low, turns out the didn't charge us for electricity. The gas bill was the same as before the smart meter. Yes, we got a new electronic device on our gas meter too.

This month our bill was well over $400!!!!!  Shocked

OK, it is for 2 months, still over $200 is more than twice what we normally pay in one month. I called and they had made a mistake on the final reading of our old meter. They told me what they think my average daily consumption is now as measured by the new meter and it makes sense, just a bit less than last year at this time.

So they will adjust our bill to correct for their mistake. It may take them 2 months to do so!!@!! Shocked

I guess they made so many mistakes their billing department can't keep up. Smiley

Jeez Carl...  When I arrived at the $400 sentence, my heart fell to the floor!  I felt terrible for you.  I began to imagine the
horror stories of having to deal with 70 IQ service reps, and a billing dept gone wild!
Whew!  I am so relieved, after further reading, to learn that all was not as bad as I first imagined!
How many PG&E customers have not been able to deal with their billing hiccups as easily as you?
Hopefully, not many.  I find that slips from my silvery tongue, too quickly...  Good for you.  I am so happy all has been
resolved..

And so it goes....   Kiss
