What a pleasant surprise! Tell me Orval, is the North Entrance of the Blue Mosque still used
as the tourist door? Do they still require visitors to remove their footwear before entering?
I remember, with much fondness of course, nearly losing my Navy issue shoes, among the
hundreds and hundreds of shoes, slippers, boots, and all manner of footwear. Thank
goodness I allowed one of the many street urchins, running up and down the path and carrying
their shoeshine boxes over their shoulders, to attend to my shoes before entering.
As a result, they sorta stood out among the scattering of shoes; and fortunately for me, not many
visitors that day wore black oxfords!
Oh the memories! Can one still purchase gold puzzle rings at the waterfront? The silver kind?
Tell us what new Lira coins are in fashion! We still deal in Lira, yes? Not the Euro?
Welcome, welcome, welcome!
